Simply and quickly, "ekklesia" is the Greek word for church. But the original meaning of ekklesia never meant a place or a building or an institution. An ekklesia was a "group of called out people for a specific purpose." Ekklesia Yuma exists to glorify God and make disciples by leading diverse people to the healing love of Jesus. Specifically Ekklesia Yuma is a multi-ethnic Christian church. Most of us are Southern Baptist but we have all types of people that worship with us.
Ekklesia Yuma is different from most other churches in that we don't meet to worship every week. Ekklesia Yuma meets to worship on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Sunday of a month. Being a multi-ethnic church, we worship in English and Spanish. We have simultaneous Spanish translation during the message.
On the 2nd and 4th Sunday of a month we meet for ENGAGE, our community outreach ministry. ENGAGE events look like block parties with free food, activities, music, and games for all ages. To participate in ENGAGE events, please meet us at Ekklesia Yuma at 10AM, and we'll travel to the ministry site together.
